So a general question: don't know if the devs ever covered this... but will your mech be able to get knocked over? This could happen in EA's failed attempt of a mechwarrior game, and it was pretty cool. When a leg gets blown off, do you just limp on it?

Pretty sure you will be able to be knocked over, but rarely. It actually does happen in other mechwarrior games but not nearly as frequently as in Mechassault if that's what you meant.

Not true. Put 4 LRM20s or UAC/20's on an Annihilator in MW3 and everything falls over.

Now i wonder if you use say a catapult with jumpjets or summoner... if you are in flight can you damage an other mech if say you land directly on top of them?

Death from Above and Charging are in. They have skills in the Attacker/Defender tree for reducing damage you take while performing them.

It's been mentioned by the devs during their recent twitter chat:
Q: Can legs be blown off? Is their limping with significant hip/leg damage?
A: Legs cannot be blown off. However you can do critical damage. The leg becomes useless and the mech limps (Bryan)
Can't seem to find the link to their entire transcript right now, but here's another place that's got it.

Not sure if I would prefer legs getting blown off, or just limping on it. Realism would dictate blown legs and a prone mech. Obviously, you can blow arms off, thats already seen in the available videos. Slow limping is still a major negative if you take severe leg damage, but would still allow the player to remain in the game. Since the actual answer has already been given, further discussion is rather moot.

As far as I remember there hasn't been an official yes or no to falling down. I know your mech will limp with crippled legs, but I don't think falling down is in currently. I could be wrong though, can't find source to verify.

One of the Q&As answers the question: not only will 'mechs fall down, but they'll even have a chance to do so when taking heavy damage over a short period of time.
Standing back up is automated.
